Aid for Bangladesh

Introduction

Bangladesh has an estimated population of 170 million people, making it one of the most populous countries in the world. Although improvements in poverty have been reported in recent years, food poverty and malnutrition remain major problems. Over 40 million people find themselves to be food insecure. This consequently affects the health of the people in Bangladesh, including vulnerable children. Did you know that every 5 seconds a child dies due to suffering from chronic hunger? Bangladesh is also exposed to climate-related hazards with recurring floods and cyclones that disrupt food production and distribution. Providing the needy in Bangladesh with clean drinking water is of high importance because of the widespread contamination. Blindness and visual impairment are significant public health issues as well in Bangladesh that affect a substantial portion of the population.

Mission

Sadaqah Smile is embarking on an important mission to make a positive impact in Bangladesh. We plan to construct multiple vital water wells, provide essential food packages and distribute school supplies for many children. Visual impairment is also not uncommon in Bangladesh, 1.5% of adults are blind and 21.6% have low vision. That’s why Sadaqah Smile will also cover the costs of critical eye surgeries. To turn these aspirations into reality, we depend on the generosity and support of our valued donors and supporters. Your contributions can truly make a difference in the lives of many, helping us bring clean water, nourishment, better education, and improved vision to the people of Bangladesh. Together, we can create a brighter and healthier future for this community.
